Territories, Art et Marges Musée
Following a relationship forged during my DYCP Arts Council funded period, I spent 4 weeks in Brussels working to link outsider art gallery Art et Marges Musée with a local day centre for people with dementia. We developed an ambitious and experimental creative project on the theme of ‘territories’ to complement the gallery’s current exhibition ‘Aussi Loin Qu’ici’. Over the residency, we considered land, maps, scale, home, perspective and displacement. We made large tactile maps with coloured paper pulp and put representations of ourselves in the lands that we had created, imagining stories, homes and lives for ourselves there.
